Application of Dynamically Search Space Squeezed Modified Firefly Algorithm to a Novel Short Term Economic Dispatch of Multi-Generation Systems

The absence of the global best component in update equation conventional firefly algorithm degrades its exploration properties. This research proposes multi-update position criteria to enhance properties technique while including effect solution on movement fireflies search space objective function. Moreover, dynamic squeezing is applied constrict within certain limits avoid their oscillatory as approaches towards by determining optimal trajectory for each firefly. robustness suggested tested a hybrid energy system consisting thermal, hydroelectric, and Photovoltaic (PV) source. intermittent nature PV source explained using fractional integral polynomial model Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model. main dispatch problem successfully computed both modified simple power share different scheduling intervals. operational strategy reduces overall generation cost preserving various constraints. Due stochastic meta-heuristic techniques, two algorithms are compared statistically test cases independent t-test results. statistical comparison suggests that performance superior counterpart evaluation parameters converge relatively lower value algorithm.
